We decided to brave the crowds and go downtown to enjoy the cherry blossoms. We went Tuesday morning which happened to be the peak day. They were beautiful. We had so much fun after we finally found parking. It took us nearly an hour to get downtown. It's usually a 20 minute drive. Then we found a parking spot and took it, then found out our friend was parked on the other side of the tidal basin in an unlimited amount of time parking lot so we went to find her. We ended up missing the parking lot twice and going around the mall twice and got back on the freeway once. So an hour later, when the parking lot she was in was all full when we finally got there, we found another parking spot that was again 3 hour parking. We should have just stayed in the first parking spot. It was very frustrating and the kids were definately ready to get out of the car.
Ben was on the run from the minute we got there. We were with all his best friends and he was just so happy to run free. I always forget, they aren't really excited about the pretty flowers. He is more excited about running around statues and finding sticks and exploring. He had so much fun.
playing peek a boo
We found a spot where Claire could get out and crawl around.
She was so happy to spend some time with her friend Grant.
Ben causing trouble I am sure.
The loved playing at the fountains where the Roosevelt statues are. Ben was very timid at first thinking he was going to fall in but they had so much fun climbing out to the waterfall.

I've been wanting to go to that for a while now. Maybe one of the years we're here we'll make it up there to see it!
