Burke Lake Park

It was really nice Saturday so we decided to go to the park. We have missed this park every time our friends go or playgroup goes so we were excited to finally get there. There was a train to ride, a carousel and a playground. It was so crowded. It was a beautiful day but poor Ben by the end of it was hot and ready to go. We rode the train first and got the last bench so we were all crowded in there. They both loved it but were a little hesitant at first. It was a fun train ride. We went to play on the playground but it was overcrowded with older kids so we moved on to the carousel. For some reason my kids decided to be on the animals that don't move up and down so I thought it was a waste of money but of course they had a great time, and I guess that is all that matters. We ended with a picnic where we could see the train go by. Ben and Siena were so excited when they saw they train come by. Ben was distracted the whole time with a family that brought balls to play with so he didn't ever join us for lunch. I always forget to bring a ball with me to the park. He is always happy when there is a ball to play with.

Summer is coming!

Yummy. tomatoes. squash. green beans and peppers. PLEASE GROW!

Ben practicing his baseball skills. He goes straight for the ball and bat when we go outside.

and Siena finally learned how to use the pedals on her trike. It's very exciting. It's actually a friends trike. She has three other bikes but they are harder to pedal.

what we've been doing

We have had great weather and have been playing outside a lot. Unfortunately Ben met up with the sidewalk and the sidewalk won. He is fine but he had just healed from a previous bump so I was excited that I could finally take pictures of him. It looks like this one may stay around for a while. Poor boy.
We planted a garden but I ran out of good dirt for it so I will post pictures when I finally get it complete. I am excited for some home grown tomatoes.
Siena continues to go to gymnastics and says she doesn't want to go. She picked out her clothes the night before and got dressed and was way excited until we walked into the class. She loved running around the class and doing her own thing. I left for a little while and walked the track with Ben and some friends and she did much better. She is too clingy to me when I am there. Hopefully she will learn to like it more and participate. This is honestly how chaotic the class is the whole time.

One year!

I am addicted to blogging! I have been blogging for a year and have 124 posts! This is much easier than keeping a journal and I like it a lot more. I was really good at writing in a journal until I began dating Dave and then for some reasons I stopped. I guess our life was pretty boring without kids. Hopefully you have enjoyed the randomness of our family and we will try to keep things interesting around here for many more years.

Easter time!

We have had a great easter. We celebrated with 3 easter egg hunts over the past week. Ben learned how to open an easter egg but doesn't really like to hunt for them and Siena loves to hunt for them and get all the candy inside. We had a great Easter dinner with friends and a egg hunt tonight. It was a beautiful day and we got to get all dressed up today for church. Siena was very excited to wear her new dress Grandma and grandpa got her and she wore it all day. She usually is pretty anxious to get if off after church. Ben was really handsome in his new outfit too, thank you nana and papa. Dave even endulged me and had a matching tie with Siena. Siena had a cute easter hat but decided she didn't want to wear it to church but we got some pictures with it on. Happy Easter!

bedtime stories

I am always curious to see how much Siena really understands when we read her stories. Sometimes it's hard to explain things to her in little kid terms. We were reading bible stories and we were talking about Jonah and the whale and I told her Jonah didn't make good choices and so he was swallowed by a whale. So she told me that she made a bad choice yesterday and that she didn't get swallowed by a whale. I knew that it would click in her head someday but I didn't know how to explain it to her any other way. I am glad that she didn't get swallowed by a whale but I hope she can understand there are consequences to her actions.

Gymnastics class!

Siena enjoyed her new gymnastics class. She was very shy and didn't really take to the teacher so I led her around most of the class but hopefully she will warm up to her soon. We have lots of friends in the class so it is fun for everyone! Ben even tried to do be involved in the class but was getting trampled by the big kids.
