Happy Birthday Ben

This time last year I was having contractions and eating out with my mom and Siena at Silver Diner then walking Target trying to get the contractions going. I was miserable. We got thru the day and went to the hospital around 9 and he was born a little after 11. It was good to have it over with quickly because I had a lot of back labor and took A LOT of hot showers that day. We are so happy he is here now and that is overwith. My baby is 1 now. He is a busy little boy and it makes me sad that he is already 1. Where did the time go? He loves to eat and torture his big sister. He is fascinated with her hair and loves to pull it. That can't be good for future years. He loves pb&j sandwiches and loves the new whole milk. Yeah! He loves balls, books and his drumsticks and trying to play with the big kids but they usually don't like that. He loves to dance too and bounces with his legs when music comes on. He has 4 teeth now and knows how to sign 'all done' and wave goodbye. I asked him to give me a kiss the other day and he leaned in and gave me a slobbery kiss. It was awesome. He gets really excited when we go up to jump on the bed at night time and then go to bed. He knows the exact routine and is all ready to go. He's my cutie and we love him very much. Happy Birthday Benny!

Bens baseball Party

Today we had Bens birthday party. It was so much fun. We had some friends and Grandma come. Ben was pretty good with all the attention. He loved his cake and his presents. We had a ball theme party, I am sure it won't be his last ball theme party. He had his own baseball cake. Notice the stitching on his cake...Dave was really proud of himself. Everyone else had cupcakes and we had ball park food. It was really yummy and made me miss summer even more. Dave fired up the grill and made hot dogs. It was actually a pretty nice day, very sunny just not that warm. We had a basketball hoop and balls galore and tons of balloons. The kids loved them and it kept them busy. The kids hovered over Ben the whole time while he was eating his cake and opening his presents to see if he needed any help. It was very cute and a very fun day. Happy Birthday Ben!!!!!!! You can finish your cake on Wed, your real birthday.

Bens new resting spot

Whenever it's quiet and you don't hear Ben go look on the stairs, most likely he will be there sitting just looking around. I guess he found a spot that he can see everything from. It's not the safest spot in the house. He hasn't fallen down yet...it makes me nervous. He thinks he's such a big kid.

random fun videos

So the weather around here is crazy. It's really warm one day and then threatens to snow the next so we just don't know what to wear around here. We spent two good days outside playing all day and then we were house bound again as it got cold. We are really ready for spring. These are funny little clips of Siena, she didn't know I was videoing her.

Captain Cupcake!

We went up to PA for a long weekend visit and a friend has a cupcake outfit that is awesome. We thought Siena would really love it since she is obsessed with cupcakes. That was not the case. We warned Siena that captain cupcake was coming over and she seemed really excited until she arrived. She wouldn't even look a captain cupcake but it was a fun time for the adults. Cool outfit huh!
We also had a pre birthday bash for Ben so grandpa could participate. He got clothes, a puzzle and a book. He loved them thanks.

Great Accomplishments!

It's always fun to see your kids improving in things. I think one of the biggest improvements is how Siena and Ben play together. I usually hear a lot of "no's" coming out of Siena's mouth but today she told me to leave her alone she was taking care of Ben. It was kinda nice. I heard them playing upstairs together. I don 't know if they were actually playing together, probably not, but atleast there wasn't any crying or shouting going on. She can tell me to leave her alone more often if she wants to play nicely with her brother. I greatly appreciate it.

I have always felt bad for those parents that have such inquisitive kids that just keep asking why all the time. Siena has started asking why A LOT. It drives me crazy. It doesn't even make sense why she is asking why and she definately isn't satisfied when I just tell her because I say so. I hope she gets over this quickly. I am getting worried about what she is going to ask about next.

Siena stayed dry all night! She didn't have any accidents and she had underwear on all night. We were very excited. I feel like pull ups are really a waste. She treated them like diapers anyway.

Ben is as crazy as ever. He discovered his tongue the other day and loves when you stick out your tongue he will stick his tongue in and out. It's very cute.

I started weaning Ben off formula and he doesn't like it. It was funny whenever you shook the bottle to mix the formula he would come running in. He knew the sound of making a bottle and was very happy to have it. I gave him real milk the other day and he just let it run right out of his mouth. He was disgusted by it. Today we tried it again and it went a little better. Formula is so expensive Iam excited to be done with it.

I remember Siena going through this phase when she was about one. She would just want to read ALL day. She loved books. I even remember hiding some of her books because she would want to read them over and over and over again. Ben has found a great interest in books now and it's fun to read to both of them. As long as they don't fight over the books.
