Hershey Park

Ben and Siena busy driving and Dave trying to bear it. This, I think, is the most annoying ride at Hershey park. All the kids honk the horns and it is just loud. Dave was good and went on it with the kids.

Ben being brave and approaching the chocolate cup. He gave him high five! Siena turned the other way and wouldn't look at us.

The train ride. The conductor made choo choo sounds the whole time. They actually sounded real.

Ben loved all the rides that he could pretend to drive.

Ben finally taking a nap

One of Sienas favorite rides. I have video of it but I will spare you the motion sickness it causes by watching it. I need to work on my camera skills.

my cutie!

Ben did not like the carousel. He jumped off his horse right as it began. I thought I got him a horse that didn't move but I hadn't.

This is the most uncomfortable ride for an adult so Dave and I fought over who got to sit out on it. We both rode it once I think. It's painful on your back.

We made our memorial day trip to Hershey Park. It was so much fun, as usual. We love the park and visiting with grandma and grandpa. We decided to go to the park Monday instead of Saturday which was opening day. Such a good decision. It was definately less crowded. We will definately do Monday instead of the Saturday of Memorial day from now on. Sometimes Siena was the only kid on a ride. The weather was perfect even though it called for some rain, we never saw any. We even went to the waterpark for a little while. We went down the new lazy river and our kids hated it. There was only one entrance and you had to go all around the river to get back out and you had to be in a raft which Siena hated. Ben fell asleep in Daves arms halfway thru it. So we weren't at the waterpark that long. We stayed the whole day at Hershey park and Ben even took a nap in the stroller. Siena was a hershey kiss height which let her ride a couple more rides than last year and let her do more rides by herself. I still couldn't convince her to go on the littlest rollercoaster. Maybe next year. Dave was able to ride the big inverted falling rollercoaster and a couple other big ones. The new roller coaster was only a 20 minute wait, it was so nice. I rode the great bear and it was fun. It was a fun day!

I love this ride...obviously the bigger kid version but it stopped working for a while when we were by it so found the little kid version of it. So much fun. It was really slow for the little kids. I was glad that Siena liked it too. Ben did like it, we went on it a couple of times and this was the only time he cried, I don't think he was scared.

It took her a while to figure out how to work the airplane. I don't think she realized she was controlling it and allowing it to go up and down. They finally got all the kids to go up in the air and she liked it.

I was impressed that Siena rode this ride. I dislike this adult ride but she seemed to like it. She was even trying to raise her hands as she saw other kids doing it.

We had a great time. Thanks grandma and grandpa. We got to spend Tuesday with them and made cookies and went to chocolate world and ate out and read plenty of books. It was a great rainy day and we were glad that we went to the park the day before!

Marble Jars

We are trying this positive discipline/reinforcement system for Siena. I feel like I give in to her too much and she gets whatever she wants whenever. She skipped the terrible 2's and I thought I was clear of it...apparently it's the terrible 3's for her. I have had many time out days lately for her and me. A coupe friends have tried this method and it seems to work for them. Why not try. So we are starting to fill this jar with marbles when she does nice things, like listening and obeying the first time, being nice to Ben, cleaning her room and toys up and staying dry all day, no accidents. I took her to the Disney store a while ago and she was amazed! She had no idea that that many princess things existed and she said she wanted everything. So when she fills up her marble jar she can go pick something out. She changes her mind everyday about what she wants but it is always something princess. So we were at Target and I saw a cute dress that I wanted for me and I told her it was cute and that I wanted it and she said that I should tell daddy and that I could have it once I filled up my marble jar! Hopefully I would fill up my marble jar a lot faster than she is filling up hers.

This and that...

I feel like we haven't done anything interesting or fun lately, atleast not blog worthy, so this is what I remember from this past week. It rained, and rained and rained a little more. All our playdates at parks got cancelled and we went to chuch e cheese. Siena is crazy at chuck e cheese and we all had a great time. She finally was able to climb up the huge tunnels and big slide that are up above everything. She even found a little friend there that she could mooch off tokens so she didn't have to spend her own. Great fun. Then I found a great new hang out. I am a big fan of Panera bread but I found my new love. Grounded coffee house. I think that is what it is called. They are smart and have kids train table and play area so the parents can talk and do whatever while the kids play. My kids didn't even want to eat they just played while I sat and ate with friends. It was wonderful and the food is great! I guess it is owned by a french pastry chef. Wonderful place I would go there everyday if I could. Dave worked very hard and we didn't see him for a good portion of the week. That is always hard but I did get a girls nite in. It was so nice. We stayed up till 1 and talked and didn't have to worry about kids. I need those more often. Ben learned how to fold his arms for prayer, it is very sweet, but it doesn't last very long and he wanders off by the time we are done. Siena learned how to pull the safety lock off the back of her door so she can open and close her door by herself and that is all she does during nap time now. One hour of her opening and closing her door. So annoying. I guess I should be happy about the rain, my garden is doing great without any help from me and I got some inside time to read some of my books. Hopefully this week will be a little more exciting and we will get to play outside.

happy early mothers day to me!

I am so excited I found this on craigslist for a great deal and it's exactly what I wanted. Now I can escape the house when both kids are driving me crazy and get a work out. I put off buying a double stroller long enough. I love it!!!
