Happy Birthday Dave!

Dave is another year older and he would like to say wiser too. I would like to say he had a good day. The whole weekend he celebrated with parties so what could be better than that. Friday he took the kids and went to a kid party, then Saturday we had a BBQ but didn't end up eating his cake so people came back over Sunday so we could eat his cake and open his presents on his real birthday. Thank you to the people that came to spoil him. Siena was so excited it was his birthday and made him a card and gathered up all her toys and found a gift bag to put them in and kept wraping them up and giving them to him all day. They were some of her favorite toys so Dave better have felt pretty special. Ben gave him a little golf set, more for Ben than for Dave but they have fun together with it. I went to Toys R Us and was looking at playstation games while holding this little golf set and struck up a conversation with a man about games and birthdays. He asked me how old my kid was and what I was getting him. When I told him it was my husband I was shopping for he asked if the golf clubs were for my husband too. I had to say yes. I knew he thought I was crazy. When Toys R Us stops being my shop all for my kids and husband it will be a sad day. So he had a good birthday and got everything he wanted... and anything he didn't get from us he will just go out and buy. So sad but true. Dave and I celebrated at the beginning of the month and went to an O.A.R. concert. It was fun. We love you Dave thanks for being a great husband and dad! You are getting old but thank goodness you don't look old!
(I thought I broke the camera so I don't have any pictures of the cake or the birthday boy. so sad.)

Where's Siena's head?

I don't understand how she fell asleep like this. Don't worry she is still breathing.

Staying in

computer games

building a trampoline with pillows and blankets

Making pudding cups that have gummy worms in them. yuck... the kids liked them.

decorating the stairs with stickers... I didn't realize this was happening until it was almost done.

(notice her cute shirt... I made it... and she is actually wearing it. That is a big step, maybe she will start wearing some of the dresses that I made her now.)
Staying in and staying sane is hard for me to do. I try to get out of the house each day otherwise I go crazy and it is a really long day. Ben and I stayed home Saturday and Sunday and then he got more spots on Monday so we decided to stay in. I don't know if he is contagious but just in case we will stay in. Tuesday was better but he still had spots so we stayed in then today I thought we might go out but there are still spots and they are red so I decided to stay in again. It seems like they are red one day and then aren't as red the next day and then they get red again. Very odd. We did go out on a walk in the 90 degree weather with humidity. We weren't out long before we had enough heat. I guess that would make it good for us to stay in but I am so bored. My house is very clean and things are organized and put away which is a good change. So we are getting creative and watching a lot of Dora the Explorer.

Poor Benny. I don't think I have any pictures of myself with the chicken pox so I have some for Ben to remember it by. If you can actually see them. He has been so good with them.

Chicken Pox

still my happy boy

can you even see them?

Siena quarantining (?) herself.

I know... who gets Chicken pox anymore. Apparently Ben does. He hasn't been vaccinated from it yet and apparently caught it from a kid that was probably vaccinated but still carried the virus and didn't show any signs so Ben caught it. I just thought it was poison ivy and put off going to the Dr.'s for a couple days. Finally it kept spreading so we decided to go in. I am kind of frustrated with the Dr. because I saw a nurse and she thought it was hand foot and mouth disease. Then the Dr. came in and said he might have fifths disease which is a feathery looking skin condition. I think he thought that because Ben was getting flustered with everyone poking him and looking at him. Then he thought well maybe it was a mild case of chicken pox. So that is what we are going with. It seems a little iffy but there is nothing we can do about it. Just keep him from itching them. He hasn't broken any open from itching and I thought chicken pox was way itchy so we didn't even consider that. It is a really mild case. They aren't really red they are just raised bumps all over him. It started behind his knees and then went all around his legs and now there are a couple on his arms and they are creeping up his neck. I feel bad for him but considering everything I think he is doing great. Siena has been vaccinated from it so hopefully we will be done with it in about a week and we won't pass it along to anyone else. Sorry if we do as I have heard that it is most contagious before the symptoms of spots show up.

J-E-L-L-O

We go to the pool and then come home and make JELLO. That is the wrap up of our week. Both kids love the pool and it is really hot and humid here now so we are going a lot. Then Siena has discovered JELLO. She loves it. I think it is disgusting and have had 2 bites and I am done, the kids love it as you can tell by the pictures. Cheap fun entertainment.
