11 pm... and still going
I had to write this to vent and to see if other people have the same issue. It seems lately that there is no resting time. It was 10:30 last night and both kids were up in thier rooms somewhat happy, but still wide awake. I have discovered that Siena takes too long of an afternoon nap, but I am not ready for her to stop napping all together, so she doesn't fall asleep till 10-11. It's really frustrating but as long as she is happy and quiet up there. Then Ben was ready to be fed again, but it was a busy night. One of my least favorite things to do is put the laundry away and that was the last thing to do before I could call it a night. I am fine with washing the clothes I just hate folding them and putting them away so I finally decided to do it. Remember it's 10:30 at night so I am a little crazy at this time of night trying to finish up everything so I can wake up happy and to a clean house. So I decided to time how long it took me to fold the laundry and put it away. It only took me 20 minutes! It's so sad that I had been procrastinating it all day when it only took 20 minutes of my day to do. So if you need motivation to do something, time yourself doing it and it will make it seem like it goes by faster!

Outside time!
Siena hates coming inside, which I guess I shouldn't blame her, it's so nice outside. We have been working really hard on our yard and we planted a garden. Siena loves it and actually helped a lot. She is a little rough with the flowers sometimes but it's fun. I will post pictures of our yard when we finish it but here is a picture of her having a picnic by herself because Dave and I were tired and we wanted to eat inside. She just wouldn't come in for dinner, but she ate all of her dinner so I guess that's the important part. Enjoy!

watch what you say!
I was in the car today talking to Siena and she was asking me to sing the "when daddy comes home" song, so I sang it to her and then she says "cuddle with daddy and say mommy wants diamonds". A little background on the mommy wants diamond part is that Dave was telling me that for mothers day I had to talk to my children about what they were going to get me. So a couple of days ago I kept telling Siena to tell daddy that mommy wanted diamonds. It obviously took her a little while to process it all but now she knows what to say, we will see what happens!

Siena's sampler
I love it when Siena sings. If you don't understand her, she starts out with twinkle twinkle little star and then ends up with popcorn popping. That is why it's so funny. My random little girl.

10 things i love about you
Since this is supposed to be a good way to keep memories I wanted to write about baby Ben, and since he isn't doing too much, I thought I would write about my favorite things about having a little baby. (I found this idea on another blog and loved it!)
#10 being able to take him around anywhere and not even knowing he's there. He's so easy to cart around
#9 His cute tiny clothes and diapers
#8 the baby smell
#7 the attention we get from everyone else that he is so small and handsome
#6 that he cuddles with me and doesn't want to be put down
#5 He tries to follow us around with his eyes
#4 sleeping for a good portion of the day
#3 When he does cry it's still the newborn cry, without any real tears
#2 feedings at night when it's quiet and it's just me and him awake.
#1 His first smile which happened to be to Siena, it happened last week!

A trip to the carousel!
I promise not to always write about our potty training adventures but today it was funny. So we have been bribing Siena to go poop on the potty by saying we could go ride the horses (the carousel) at the mall when she did. When she woke up from her nap we tried potty training and finally at 7:30 at night she went poop in the potty! I had to follow through with the promise so we gathered everyone up and went to the horses. We got there right in time, they were actually closing down, but I convinced them to give us a ride. It was exciting for Siena and when we got home she went straight to the bathroom to go poop again. So we will see if we get to go to the horses again tomorrow!

Trains in the bathroom
So we have started the process of potty training and we have good days and bad. We told Siena she could play Thomas the tank engine on the computer if she sat on the big girl potty and went potty. We know when she goes potty in the pull up because she gets all nervous and walks around quickly not knowing what to do so we knew it was coming but she didn't want to sit on the big girl potty. So... we brought the computer in the bathroom and sat it down while she sat on the potty. It didn't work, she went potty right after we put the pull up back on and she won and got to see the trains on the computer. So any advice for potty training would be appreciated because our great ideas aren't working at the m0ment.

Here we are!
We are going to try this and see if we can keep it up. I like looking at other people's blogs and seeing what they do, and I would like to think our life is interesting too. We will see if it really is. You may be hearing a lot about us going to Target and Costco because that is what Siena thinks we do every day.
